Club Championship dates for 2008 announced

The club championships for 2008 will be decided over six monthly, 3-mile runs throughout the summer.

Prizes will be awarded for the most improved male and female over the series for the road and off-road events.

The schedule will be:

Tuesday, April 1 - Road (will also serve as a practice race for entrants to the Bradford 10k)

Tuesday, April 29 - Off-Road (brought forward from the originally advertised first Tuesday in May, to avoid clashing with the first John Carr 5k)

Tuesday, June 3 - Road

Tuesday, July 1 - Off-Road

Tuesday, August 5 - Road

Tuesday, September 2 - Off-Road

The runs take place after 7pm from Esholt Sports Club, Esholt Lane. Please be ready and changed for 7pm. Parking, changing rooms, showers, and a pie-and-peas supper and drink in the bar after the race are all available. The entry fee is £1, plus £1 for the supper afterwards.

The runs are organised on a handicap principle, so that each runner sets off with runners of the same ability, with the idea that everyone will reach the finish at the same moment.
