The John Carr series of 5k road races takes place this year on the Wednesday evenings of May 7, 14 and 21.
Despite the works being undertaken in the grounds of Yorkshire Water at Esholt, the route remains the same, is officially measured, and is basically fast and flat. The course records are 14min 40sec (by Tim Crossland) and 16min 52sec (by Jenny Blizzard).
The first race also doubles as the Yorkshire Vets 5k road championship and is always very popular. The race limit in 2008 has set at 400 for each race.
Entry forms are now available and runners are advised to enter early to avoid disappointment; it is almost guaranteed to sell-out early.
Completed forms (or further particulars) should be addressed to: Diane Craven, Fold Barn, Long Syke Edge, Cowling Hill, N. Yorks BD22 0LL.
