Big golden medal haul for divers

Bradford Esprit Diving Club have returned from a North East Regional event with nine gold medals, four silvers and five bronzes.

Many of the Bradford Council's Leisure Services-backed team came back with personal best scores and five of them were selected for the Amateur Swimming Association's Inter-Regional Skills finals in Plymouth later this year.

Golds on day one went to Joe Meszaros (Group A boys' platform), Michael Jones (Group C boys' platform) and Claire Splawn (Group B girls' platform), while on day two Joe won the Group A boys' three-metres springboard, Michael the Group C boys' one-metre springboard and Aisha Omri the Group C girls' one-metre springboard.
