Keighley 39, Dinnington 8

Keighley remained in pole position to claim second place thanks to a bonus-point win over lowly Dinnington.

With third-placed rivals Driffield enjoying an equally-emphatic win against Huddersfield YMCA, the Rose Cottagers must now win their last game at Knottingley to secure a play-off spot.

The visitors dominated the early exchanges but their only reward was a penalty and the hosts levelled with a try from Scott Dyson.

Expecting a driving maul from a line-out, Dinnington left a gap which the lively wing forward broke through to score in the corner.

Alex Brown added a penalty and Keighley increased their lead further when powerful runner Adam Horsfall broke out of defence and, after some neat work by full back Danny McGee and centre Danny Price, Brown crossed in the corner.

Horsfall grabbed his second try after the break, which was converted by Brown, following good work from Price and Marco Ferrazzano.

Dinnington raised their game and their hard work paid off when the pack forced their way over the try line, wing forward Donnelly claiming the touchdown.

But the young, athletic Keighley pack linked well with the backs and some sparkling handling gave Ian Buckley a reward for his hard work with a well-taken try, converted by Brown.

Dyson and Brown both claimed second tries as the hosts ran away with it, leaving Dinnington staring relegation in the face.
