North Ribblesdale 6 Keighley 35

Keighley climbed up to second place thanks to victory in this local derby and results elsewhere going for them.

The game started badly for them when a series of penalties saw Ribb centre Dan Watson claim an easy six points.

Eventually Keighley settled and, after a driving maul, captain Leigh Sugden crossed, with Alex Brown adding the conversion.

Ribb came near to scoring on a number of occasions but organised defence kept them out. A break by flanker Scott Dyson gave Sugden his second try and Brown added the extras.

In the second half, Keighley dominated as Stuart Inman touched down and Brown improved the score.

Ribb rallied but were unable to gain enough quality possession and the game was put to bed with tries from centre Marco Ferrazzano and Brown, who converted both.

Pocklington’s 15-13 win over Bridlington and Driffield’s 43-7 defeat at Pontefract mean Keighley are two points clear in second spot.
