Lister returns as Baildon bid for cup double

Baildon welcome back Nick Lister for Sunday’s Yorkshire Silver Trophy final against Thornensians at Pontefract RUFC (2.00).

The playmaker missed the semi-final win at Hemsworth last Sunday due to an ankle injury sustained at Twickenham in their RFU Junior Vase final victory.

He will return at full back as Kiwi Jarrod Huss is on holiday, while scrum half Ben Newton, experienced forward Andy Pollard, prop Guy Price and utility back Gareth Guyers are part of seven-strong bench.

This is the third meeting this season between Thornensians and Baildon, with each having a league win apiece, and the Jenny Laners’ rugby chairman Andy Whitley said: “They have had improved results under a new coach and we are expecting a tough match.”
