Hessle 13, Baildon 34
Baildon secured their 13th consecutive league win with a bonus-point victory which condemned Hessle to Division Four rugby next year.
The game started poorly for the Jenny Laners when a defensive error led to a try for the hosts with less than a minute on the clock.
Two penalties from stand-off Jake Duxbury (pictured) sandwiched one from Hessle and meant Baildon were in danger of losing their unbeaten record at the break.
However, their superior fitness and pace proved decisive in the second half as two tries fom winger Joe Moore and one each for full back Nicky Lister and scrum half Ben Newton ended Hessle’s resistance.
News that Aireborough had lost to Sheffield Medics meant the Jenny Laners moved into their target of third place with just two league games left.
