GETTING the disciplinary side of their game in order is proving a difficult task for CLECKHEATON.

Player-coach Thiu Barnard must feel that he sounds like a broken record.

After their 39-3 setback at North One East leaders Morpeth last weekend, Barnard said: “We gave away 17 penalties to seven, and you aren’t going to win games of rugby with stats like those, and four of the 17 came when we had possession.

“I was really pleased with our first ten minutes, but then we kicked the ball dead and went downhill from there.”

Cleckheaton are without injured lock Ryan Piercy at bottom club Northern, and hand a first start to Australian Grant Fitzsimmons on the wing.

BRADFORD & BINGLEY, disappointed to be without centres Fuifui Moimoi and Dennis Tuffour and lock Harry Jeffrey at Malton & Norton, are likely to pair James Morton and Ali Macdonald in midfield and bring in Jack Malthouse on the bench.

The Bees and Cleckheaton are among eight clubs bidding to avoid the three relegation places, including Northern and Malton & Norton.

OTLEY, whose long-serving secretary Marc Lawrence has resigned for “personal reasons”, are without injured full back Tom Hodson at home to Sale FC in National League Two North.

However, the hosts welcome back No 8 Freddie Watson after their gutsy recovery from 14-0 down to beat Sheffield Tigers 28-17 last weekend.

BRADFORD SALEM, in need of a victory as they slip closer to the relegation trapdoor in Yorkshire Division One, are at home to Beverley.

"If we play like we did against Old Brodleians and Scarborough then we have a good chance, but we have to play better towards Heaton Woods," admitted Salem's chairman Neil Klenk.

OLD GROVIANS welcome back Harry Hardy, Liam Harrison, Charles Cockshott, Alex Dodd-Jones and Harry Garforth for the Yorkshire Division Two match at Halifax Vandals, but are without Tom Gough for the season.

BAILDON are without Will Tomlinson (broken rib) at home to Knottingley in Yorkshire Division Three, and this follows on from the fractured finger suffered by Adam Hewitt.

However, Nick Lister returns, as does Sam Robinson.

WIBSEY start their Yorkshire Division Four Premier campaign at Stanley Rodillians.

Rotherham Phoenix are expected to finissh first but Wibsey feel that second place is not out of each if they have a strong campaign as they are aonly 11 points adrift at the moment.
