BRADFORD & BINGLEY'S director of rugby Martin Whitcombe has expressed his delight at their 29-20 victory at Northern which took them out of the North One East relegation places.

It followed their 31-22 home win over Dinnington – their first win after three defeats – and Whitcombe said: "To travel two or three hours away from home with a disrupted squad is always a big ask, but to go out and dominate to the extent where I thought the result was never in doubt as soon as Tom Booth got us on the scoreboard in the fifth minute is a huge credit to the whole squad.

"We are getting on with the hard graft in the front five and we are keeping it simple from there outward."

The Bees are expected to field a similar side as at Northern for their home match against West Hartlepool on Saturday, who are one of three teams below them in the table.

BRADFORD SALEM have their usual mixture of ins and outs for their Yorkshire Division One derby at second-placed Old Brodleians, who have won five out of five.

Out are winger Callum Armstrong (shoulder injury), scrum half Martins Bokiss (concussion), hooker Simon Markey (old age) and Sam Gardner, but back are Danny Belcher, Connor Malarkey and Jake Abram.

Belcher must bide his time on the wing as in-form Ryan Smith is at full back, while Malarkey is at centre and Abram on the other wing.

Scrum half Jamie Simpson – a mate of Abram's – is due to make his debut at scrum half, while 17-year-old winger or centre Brandon Naffau, who has been impressing in the second team, could make his debut off the bench.

KEIGHLEY, whose season had been equally erratic, are at fifth-placed Beverley.

In Yorkshire Division Two, sixth-placed OLD GROVIANS, who are punching above their weight, are at Pontefract, who are in a triple tie for the lead with Yarnbury and Old Crossleyans.

BAILDON, like, Salem, have some in and some out at Stocksbridge in Yorkshire Division Three, welcoming back Danny Pollard, who will play at centre after a shoulder injury, scrum half Jack Aaron and Chris Peel, but are without Matt Withers and Phil Wilson.
