2:50pm Thursday 12th January 2012 in Otley By Bill Marshall
Otley may not have gained any league points last weekend in their 33-18 defeat at SSE National League Two North leaders Loughborough Students, and they dropped a place to second from bottom.
But it was a peformance that helped their confidence no end.
“We had a bad finish to 2011 but this was a good way to start the new year,” said Otley’s director of rugby Tom Rock.
“It was a very even match but we made one or two errors which Loughborough took advantage of in a 15-point swing in 15 minutes and we must learn from that.
“If we take this overall level of performance forward, I am sure that we will start climbing the table.”
Otley have winger James Wood available on Saturday for the home match against fourth-placed Caldy.
