Otley have conceded their final National One game of the season to allow players to feature with Yorkshire in the County Championship.

The Cross Greeners were scheduled to entertain Moseley but have already been relegated and so decided to forfeit the tie.

EDF Energy National Trophy victors Moseley secured their Championship status a fortnight ago and in Otley’s opinions the fixture is a dead rubber.

The club – who wouldn’t have been able to field a side with as many as eight players set for Yorkshire action – has no objection to the league points being awarded to Moseley.

Also, the club would not wish to stand in the way of players representing their county after a particularly difficult season beset by pay problems.

Otley have always released players anyway for the County Championship even though it is strictly not required to do so.

The White Rose face Northumberland and, as well as having players in the full county squad, Otley also have young forward Jason Moss in the Yorkshire U-20 squad, which will play Gloucestershire in the U-20 Championship final at Twickenham on Saturday.

He is named as a replacement on the bench for the Yorkshire team.

Yorkshire: Avison (York); Orr (Sandal), Broadley (Leeds University), Stimpson (Dinnington), Munro (Skipton); Davidson (Wharfedale), Gill (Wharfedale); Altham (Wharfedale), Doughty (Doncaster), Thiede (Doncaster), Harris (Huddersfield), Chamberlain (Morley), Carter (Harrogate), Marshall (Dinnington). Replacements: Newman (Sandal), Sant (Pontefract), Aikman (Pocklington), Moss (Otley), Maud (York), Parsons (Sheffield Tigers), Burke (Morley).
