OLD Grovians took a makeshift team to promotion-chasing Pontefract in Yorkshire Division Two and lost 41-0.
The visitors only had 15 players, but were reduced to 14 early in the second half when front-rower Sam Pickering suffered blurred vision after a blow to the head and could be out for several weeks.
Old Grovians' pack competed well but they still conceded seven tries and are hoping to field a stronger side at home to Moortown on Saturday, March 25.
