Cleckheaton are confident that their North Division One campaign won't just peter out.
"We have had one or two disappointing results, such as against top two Huddersfield and Kendal, but we probably didn't expect to get anything out of those," admitted chairman of rugby Steve Hutton.
"But, starting on Saturday at home to Middlesbrough, we have three games left against teams that are lower than us in the table and we hope to finish the season on a high.
"One more win would mean that we survive on our own merits, rather than staying up because of other team's results, and that is important to us. But we have had to contend with a massive injury list.
"It has meant that we have had to throw in some of the young lads earlier than we wanted to but some of them have come through."
This weekend, Cleckheaton have injury-hit scrum half Dominic Castle on the bench and also grant a return on the wing to Simon Bradshaw.
Cleckheaton (home to Middlesbrough): R Duckett; R Hayden, T Lauriston, J Walker, S Bradshaw; M Piper, A Falkner; M Chivers, S Worsley, J Lamptey, J Dudley, J Gioti, M Sergeant, L Hamilton, R Piper. Replacements: D Castle, J South, C Mason.
