National League Three North: Cleckheaton 50 Stockport 17
CLECKHEATON ran in eight tries against strugglers Stockport, but the Greater Manchester side didn't go quietly and tested the hots, particularly in the first half.
Cameron Burnhill got the scoring underway for the home team when the full back stepped his man and raced to the line, and Lee Queeley then finished off a flowing move from the back line to give Cleckheaton a 10-0 lead.
Stockport then benefited from Cleckheaton's concession of a number of penalties, Scott Redfearn slotting one through the sticks to get the visitors on the board.
Soon after the restart, the same player intercepted a loose pass from Cleckheaton, raced 40 metres to the sticks and added the conversion to make it game on at 10-10.
Cleckheaton knew they would have to up the tempo and reduce the penalty count, and started the second period in that manner.
A spilled pass from Stockport was collected by Ronan Evans, who fed Josh Hall for a try in the corne, with Evans converting.
Richard Piper then controlled the ball at the base of the scrum and dribbled it over for Cleckheaton's fourth try before Jack Seddon went in for two tries for Cleck either side of one from Danny Vento.
Martin Woodhead scored Cleckheaton's final try when he weaved through a tired defence, and Evans brought the 50 points up with a difficult conversion.
Stockport didn't give up though and were rewarded with a last-minute consolation try for McFadden.
