Having disposed of second-placed Chester 26-17 away last weekend, Bradford & Bingley’s director of rugby Martin Whitcombe cannot wait for Saturday.

The sixth-placed Bees take on SSE National League Three North leaders Darlington Mowden Park at Wagon Lane, and the former England A prop said: “These are the games that you want to be involved in.

"They are a good side and have only lost a couple of games (Chester and Lymm) but they are to sides that we have beaten on the road.”

Whitcombe added: “When we lost at their place earlier in the season, Tom Cokell broke his thumb, Stewart Brewer was only on the pitch for 20 minutes before getting injured and Guy Ford was unavailable.

“Now we are much stronger, and the fact that all of our backs scored last weekend shows we are playing some good rugby.

"Phil Greaves was outstanding for us at fly half – at least a league above us in standard.

“We know we are never going to get him fit but he is benefiting from regular play and instead of trying to do it all himself, he is bringing other people into the game.”
