BAILDON coach Andy Pollard reckons his team will not suffer long term after their first defeat of the season last weekend.

The Jenny Laners went down 26-19 at Knottingley, who also took over the leadership of Yorkshire Division Three.

“Our average age is still young, we made a lot of tackles early on, we ran out of steam a bit and we also got giddy,” confessed Pollard.

“We don’t know how to close a game out but the lads are not despondent and there were 28 at training on Tuesday.”

Back for the derby at sixth-placed Old Otliensians on Saturday are lock James Fox, full back Matty Robinson, returning after sickness, wingers Nathan King and Hayden Lister and centre Ross McUrich.

Baildon may have dropped to second after their first loss in eight but WIBSEY are five points clear in Yorkshire Division Five after winning seven out of seven.

They have prop Danny Carr, hooker Mark Darragh, full back Bradley Wright and back-rower Michael Kite available for the home match against Garforth but are without prop Simon Birkbeck and fellow forward Alex Cerson as they select from 26.

BRADFORD & BINGLEY, who tread new ground at Guisborough, are up to fifth in North One East, and director of rugby Martin Whitcombe said: "We are getting some of our best players back and we will reassess where we are at Christmas."

Playmaker Gerhard Nortier has recovered sufficiently from an ankle problem to be named on the bench alongside lock Harry Jeffrey, who has had ankle trouble.

Hooker Masui Akauola serves a one-match ban after being set off for two yellow cards at home to Driffield last weekend.
