Bradford area stalwart Leslie Legs' Bentley, who has been involved in the sport for 75 years, has been made a life member of Baildon Rugby Union Club.

The 85-year-old, who already has a Torch Trust award from Princess Anne for unsung heroes, received the accolade at Baildon's annual dinner in the clubhouse.

Former captain Nick Lister lifted two awards - first-team player of the year and the most points (Johnny Bell Trophy), Jon Picken getting the first team's top try-scorer award and Tom Craven the most improved player award.

Second-team winners were Mick Massey (most tries), Jack Aaron (most improved player) and Jason Taylor (player of the year).

Clubman of the year was under-14 coach Clive Melleney, who has been tutoring Year Nine, Ten and Eleven pupils at Salt Grammar School, as well as hopefully setting up a Baildon RUFC girls' team.
