Five players sign up for Wibsey

Yorkshire Division Five side Wibsey, already bolstered by the news that head coach Dave Grayson is on board for another season, have also signed five players.

They are fly half Andrew Hirst, wings or centres Jem Birkis and Scott Smith, flanker or second-rower Carl Hopkins and centre Carl Walker, while returning are Bryn Worsley and Ryan Issac.

But that is counter-balanced by James Sawyer (shoulder) and Neil Carter (leg) being out for the season with breaks.

Pre-season training (Tuesdays and Thursdays at Northfield Road, 7.30pm) has already started and there were 17 players at the first session, compared to eight last campaign.

Wibsey have also retained their two fully-qualified physios from Bradford University and have new support from Ohlsson Properties International to back up current sponsors Prestige IT and Prestige Recruitment.
