Wibsey are at Rawmarsh in SSE Yorkshire Division Five on Saturday, buoyed by a 53-3 victory at home to Nestle Rowntree last weekend.
“It was a remarkable turnaround,” said Wibsey’s coach Dave Grayson, “because they put 117 points past us last season and we only scored 24.
"We had a full team and subs and we tackled them to death. They gave up in the end.
“It was a reward for all the hard work we have been putting in over a period of months, and this was the first game of four that we have targeted.”
Leading the nine-try romp was Andy Robinson (3) and Dan Horsfall (2), with the tally being completed by Neil Carter, Adam Dutton, Ryan Isaac and Knowles.
Wibsey had done the hard work in the first half, establishing a 5-3 lead up the Beldon Lane slope, with their dominant pack setting the tone.
The York visitors took the lead with a penalty in the 21st minute but it was downhill for them after that in more ways than one.
Man of the match Elliott Gray landed four conversions for Wibsey, just pipping Robinson for the award.
