Skipton’s second team host the first Hanson Furnishers Aire-Wharfe Cup semi-final tomorrow night night against Old Otliensians (6.30).
The home side, who easily saw off Otley’s second strings in the first round, came through a 28-27 thriller at Wharfedale Thirds, whose tries came from outside centre Sam Watson (2) and No 8 James Rowley, Jeremy Hargreaves landing five penalties and a conversion.
The other semi-final is Wednesday night at the same time between Aireborough and Baildon, who are still both breathing a sigh of relief having escaped relegation from Yorkshire Division Three.
Aireborough had veteran second row Richard Fall, full back James Stocker, outside centre Rob Johnson, winger Stephen Nolson and Mark Druce in form during their 38-10 victory over visitors Roundhegians in the second round.
Also in form were the half-backs, Nick Holdsworth commanding things from fly half while 18-year-old scrum half Olly Catherall also showed up well.
Baildon, who put out Ilkley Seconds 36-32 in a first-round tie that proved compulsive viewing, continued their tightrope walking escapades with a 25-20 victory at Leeds Corinthians in round two, Hayden Lister going over for the winning try.
In the Plate, Keighley Seconds host the first semi-final on Wednesday night against Yorkshire Division Three champions West Park Leeds (6.45) Keighley came through 8-5 in the first round at Bradford Salem, while West Park Leeds progressed via a walkover against Otley.
