YORKSHIRE Carnegie have reportedly sacked head coach Gary Mercer with the club currently tenth in the Championship.
The 48-year-old former Bradford rugby league player was appointed in August but has won just two of his eight league games in charge.
It is understood that forwards coach Tommy McGee, the former Leeds prop and Wharfedale head coach, has been appointed in Mercer's place, with centre Rob Vickerman taking charge of the backs.
There had been no official comment from the club at the time of going to press last night.
Carnegie drew 19-19 with bottom side Plymouth Albion on Friday, the first time this season the south-coast side had avoided defeat.
The Headingley outfit, semi-finalists last season, are currently eight points outside the play-off places.
Carnegie have been a shadow of the team that finished third under current Bulls boss Jimmy Lowes in 2013-14.
