OTLEY have announced six more signings as their build-up to the National League Two North season gathers pace.

They are former Bradford & Bingley skipper Brett Mitchell, centre or winger Ollie Goss from Yorkshire Carnegie, utility back Christian Pollock from Northumberland & Durham Division One Guisborough, back-rower Sion Jones from Welsh rugby league, lock Harry Johnson from Ashfield College and hooker Henry Watson from Dings Crusaders.

The sextet can therefore be added to the Joes (half-back Rowntree from Ilkley and hooker Graham from Rotherham Titans).

South African-born lock Mitchell made his debut for the Bees as a teenager in the Yorkshire Cup in 2008-09, was captain for three seasons from 2013-14, and was their forward of the year in 2013-14.

Goss is a former Bath Academy player who then played for Doncaster Knights from 2008-12 before five years at Headingley, being loaned out to Huddersfield during the 2015-16 season.

Pollock made 15 appearances for Guisborough last season, scoring five tries, while Jones, from Barry, has been playing at prop for South Wales Ironmen in Kingstone Press League One this summer, also representing his country in the recent Student RL World Cup in Australia.

Influential hooker Watson has re-joined, having returned from university.

More signings are expected before Otley, who host Warrington on Saturday in a pre-season friendly (3.00), start their campaign at home to Stourbridge on September 2.

Among the players who are leaving the Cross Greeners, apart from Adam Blades, who has joined Huddersfield, are flanker Tom O'Donnell, prop Loma Kivalu, flankers James Wood and Sam Hudson, fly half Jack Blakeney-Edwards and former Yorkshire Under-20 hooker Harry Wales.

O'Donnell has bought a house in Hull and has joined National League One side Hull Ionians, Kivalu has signed for Redruth, where his father has a business, and Wood has moved to new Zealand.

Wales has joined Ilkley in National League Three North, while Blakeney-Edwards has switched to Darlington Mowden Park.

Hudson has represented Leicester Tigers in the Singha Premiership Sevens
