EXPERIENCED lock James Fox picked up two awards at Baildon RUFC players' dinner.

He won the players' player and coaches' player of the year award for the first XV.

Fellow first XV player JJ O'Connell was their top try-scorer, also winning the Johnny Bell Trophy for being the leading points scorer in the club.

Dan Fletcher was the most improved player for the first XV, and was top try-scorer for the second XV, for whom Tom Massey was players' player and leading points scorer (winning the Kick Tee award).

First XV forward of the year was Danny Pollard, with Matty Robinson taking the backs award, while Matty Dixon was their young player of the year.

Clubperson of the year was first XV coach Andy Pollard, president's player of the year was Dale Tabiner, supporter of the year was Martin Peel, and Spirit of Rugby award winner was ace medic Dr Mark Purvis, while the happy retirement award went to second XV official Pete Haydock.

Other second XV award winners were Will Craven (coaches' player of the year), Dan Bennett (most improved player), Josh Bull (forward of the year), Dan Haywood (back of the year), Chris Peel (personality of the year) and Matt Fox (Mr Consistency).

Yorkshire Division Five champions Wibsey have also held their end-of-season awards, with skipper and No 8 James Brown winning both the players' player of the year and committee's player of the year trophies.

Best newcomer was Brad Wright, top try-scorer was Chris Clough and most improved player was Marcus Grimes.

The trustees' award went to James Birkbeck, the clubman of the year was shared by first XV coaching duo Rob Greenwood and Andy Rose, while the president's award went to club chairman, club secretary and first XV manager Steve Brooke.
