Yorkshire Division Three: Harrogate Pythons 33 Baildon 7

AN INFERIOR Baildon scrum that wasn't remedied when prop Adam Hewitt went off with a calf muscle injury and was replaced by Dan Cookson, Will Tomlinson reverting to the front row, conceded a penalty try for a deliberate wheel, the conversion putting the hosts 7-0 in front.

Nick Lister gave the visitors some hope with a jinking run, and they looked dangerous in broken play, Nathan King, Matty Robinson, Lister, Tomlinson and Luke Strauss, Danny Pollard, Matty Dixon and Guy Price being involved in the move that led to JJ O'Connell being halted at the expense of a penalty.

James Dawson took it quickly and passed to James Fox for a try, O'Connell's conversion bouncing over via an upright.

Having reached half-time at 7-7, Baildon's attacking edge was blunted in the second half and they soon conceded a converted try to Pythons' No 8.

An injudicious Robinson offload was intercepted, and the hosts ran the length of the pitch for another converted try.

Sam Robinson was then sin-binned as Baildon risked giving away a penalty at every scrum, and a heel against the head brought Pythons their fourth try to make it 26-7.

Another breakaway try when the ball pinged off Harrison Strauss' shoulder completed the scoring, but Baildon almost conceded a sixth try from yet another silly offload.
