Yorkshire Five Vase: Stanley Rodillians 7 Wibsey 27

YORKSHIRE Division Five leaders Wibsey made it two Vase wins from two with this victory, adding to last month's 12-0 home league victory over Garforth, which was a double-header.

Stanley Rodillians, who play a division higher, were missing four players with long-term injuries but started well.

It was against the run of play that Isaac Khan opened the scoring with a seventh-minute try for Wibsey, who themselves had six regulars absent.

Full back Brad Wright converted but Rods levelled with a converted try three minutes later, although they missed shots at goal in the 13th and 35th minutes, both awarded against Wibsey for dissent.

Wright put the visitors 10-7 ahead at half-time with a 40th-minute penalty, and he landed another effort seven minutes into the second half.

As has become the case recently, however, Wibsey's fitness told in the final 20 minutes, with centre Chris Clough and fly half James Sawyer crossing for tries in the 63rd and 72nd minutes respectively, 17-year-old man of the match Wright making it five from five off the tee.
