WIBSEY’S team manager Steve Brooke has a relative embarrassment of riches for their top-of-the-table clash at home to Mosborough tomorrow in Yorkshire Division Five.

“We have 27 players available and I can only pick 20,” said Brooke, who doubles as rugby chairman.

“I have never known anything like it in terms of numbers in the seven years I have been involved. We are at full strength and seven players are going to be disappointed.”

Both Wibsey, whose normal problem over the years has been trying to get 15 on the pitch, and Mosborough have won four out of four, but, as Brooke notes, all of the south Yorkshire team’s victories have come at home.

He added: “The lads are buzzing and they are confident, but Mosborough, who we haven’t played since 2009-10 (Wibsey lost at home 43-7 and away 48-5), traditionally have a strong pack.”

Cheering the home side on will be many of their stalwarts from the past as they have a players’ reunion.

BRADFORD SALEM play their fourth successive derby in Yorkshire Division One and they owe hosts Heath one.

Salem’s first-team manager Neil Klenk said: “We lost 33-29 at their place in March, when we were battering their line, had a try disallowed and were held up over the line several times, and lost 19-14 at our place last November

Heath finished eighth last season and Salem tenth – the position they are currently in. However, the Halifax club are 13th and bottom this time with one win from five. Also, Salem have named their strongest side of the season.

OLD GROVIANS will be glad of a weekend off next week as they are struggling for numbers for their Yorkshire Division Two match at Wath.
