TWO promoted sides meet in an intriguing Yorkshire Shield semi-final derby tomorrow.

Yorkshire Division Two runners-up Keighley are at home to Yorkshire Division One champions Bradford & Bingley.

"It is great for a club like Keighley to have a crack at Bradford & Bingley," admitted Rose Cottage player-coach Hamish Pratt.

"It is an exciting prospect as a lot of our guys haven't played Bradford & Bingley in a competitive match at first-team level."

These sentiments are shared by fly half Alex Brown, who said: "We are really looking forward to it. They will be favourites but we have had a really good season."

Bradford & Bingley director of rugby Martin Whitcombe, returning to the town he calls home, said: "It is ten months ago since we played Bridlington in the first round, so it has been a long season.

"We set out in 2015-16 wanting to improve on what we did the season before and we have done that. Now we want to go to Keighley and give it our best shot in the Shield."

The final is a week on Sunday at West Park Leeds.

Meanwhile, Bradford & Bingley hold their annual general meeting on Thursday, May 26, starting at 7pm in the clubhouse.
