NORTH Ribblesdale product Chris Walker is among eight players to have confirmed new contracts at Yorkshire Carnegie for next season.

The back-rower, who has been loaned to Otley, has signed a one-year deal – as have fellow forward Matt Smith and centres Pete Lucock and Tom Casson, while front-rowers Charlie Beech and Lee Imiolek, lock Mike Myerscough and centre Andy Forsyth have penned two-year stays.

Meanwhile, back at Headingley is fly half Joe Ford, elder brother of England fly half George. Joe started his career with Carnegie in 2009 before moving to Premiership outfits Northampton and Sale.

Other signings for 2016-17 are scrum half Max Green, scrum half or fly half Alex Davies, centre Alex Gray, hookers Ross Graham and Mike Mayhew, his brother Richard, a back-rower, and prop Max Maidment.

Among the ten players leaving are winger Dan Tai and flanker Jack Barnard, who have both been on loan with Wharfedale, and long-serving winger David Doherty.
