BRADFORD Salem withstood a JJ O'Connell-inspired Baildon to book themselves a quarter-final at Wharfedale next week in the Aire-Wharfe Cup.

On a chilly night at Jenny Lane, Salem triumphed 29-17, thanks to tries by Baildon old boy Tom Craven, Sam Savage, Ian Woodwiss and Jamie Symons, Sam Riley adding a penalty and three conversions.

Baildon, who did well to only trail 17-5 up the slope at half-time considering how much defending they did, notched a try by O'Connell in the first half and added others by Matt Fox, after good work by James Exley, and Jamie Matthews, which was converted by O'Connell.

Wharfedale thrashed Bradford & Bingley 67-0 at The Avenue.

Skipton defeated Keighley 18-7 at Sandylands, with Harry McEneaney getting both tries, and Jake Duxbury adding two penalties and a conversion, and they will now host Ilkley.

West Park Leeds needed extra-time to win 14-7 at Aireborough, while West Leeds triumphed 29-10 at Roundhegians.

West Leeds now go to Old Otliensians, while West Park Leeds visit Yarnbury.

Aire-Wharfe Plate – Semi-final eliminator: Bradford & Bingley v Baildon (next week). Semi-finals (week beginning April 18): Keighley v Bradford & Bingley or Baildon, Roundhegians v Aireborough.
