YORKSHIRE Carnegie put themselves in good heart for Sunday's British & Irish Cup final against London Welsh at Headingley (3.00) by defeating the same opponents 31-28 in the Greene King IPA Championship at Old Deer Park.
Carnegie were 21-7 behind after 47 minutes but won with a last-second Joel Hodgson try to secure their place in the play-offs that he also converted.
Other Carnegie tries came from Ryan Burrows, David Doherty, Pete Lucock and a penalty try. Kevin Sinfield adding two conversions.
