THREE times Twickenham finalists Bradford Salem could have their potential trip to headquarters snuffed out early doors this season.

Salem, winners of the first two Provincial Insurance Cups in 1991 and 1992 and RFU Senior Vase runners-up to Nantwich in 2007, are at Durham City tomorrow in an RFU Intermediate Cup Northern pool match.

However, as the hosts have already won their opening pool match 37-15 at Gosforth in November, another victory for them in the three-team pool would render Salem's final match at home to Gosforth on Saturday, February 27 redundant.

Salem, who plan on taking 21 players, are not lacking in support or hope.

First-team manager Neil Klenk said: "They may be top of Durham & Northumberland Division One, having only lost one game to Consett (15-8 at home in November), and have several Durham county players but Yorkshire Division One is traditionally thought of as being slightly harder and we are taking two coachloads of spectators, as well as those who are going by car."

Salem are without second row James Cunliffe (recurring back injury), and utility forward Tom Craven (work) but back into the fray come locks Dan Snowden and John Morrell and scrum half Matt Child.

One interesting addition is former Bees and Salem fly half Matt Booth – elder brother of No 8 Jamie – who will give the visitors the option of switching Dan Belcher to full back.

Wibsey have an extra incentive to win at Hornsea in Yorkshire Division Five after the hosts got shirty over the Bradford club failing to travel there on the last Saturday before Christmas due to a lack of available players.

Old Rishworthians have switched their Yorkshire Division Two match against Keighley to Rose Cottage after fears that their Copley pitch won't be playable.
