Yorkshire Division Three: Leeds Medics & Dentists 32 Baildon 5
IN blizzard conditions brought by Storm Gertrude, the Jenny Laners made their way to Weetwood to face Leeds Medics and Dentists.
The hosts ran from deep in the build-up to their first try, James Fox being penalised for a high tackle, Medics taking a tap penalty and moving the ball through their hands for the left winger to score.
After the scare of a JJ O'Connell clearance kick being charged down by Medics, they scored their second try after wheeling a scrum, the conversion attempt bouncing off a post.
Fox then departed with a 'dead leg' before the visitors crossed the home line, only for the try to be chalked off for a double knock-on.
O'Connell then had a second clearance kick charged down, a host player catching the ball gratefully for an easy score, although the conversion was scuffed under the crossbar.
However, they got their bonus-point try from the restart, with Baildon barely laying a hand on them.
Nick Lister's introduction at fly half galvanised Baildon's back line, however, Ricky Powell getting his first try for the visitors from a Robbie Hill pass.
It was temporarly relief, however, and Medics crossed again before half-time.
Powell almost got his second try in an improved second-half display from the visitors, with both Medics and Baildon having a man sin-binned.
Medics then received another yellow card but, in a rare visit to Baildon's half, they scored another converted try to complete a comfortable victory.
