STUART Lancaster has left his role as England head coach by mutual consent.
The news comes in the wake of the national team's World Cup failure to progress past the group stages and amid the furore surrounding Sam Burgess' return to rugby league.
Former Bulls star Burgess last week rejoined South Sydney Rabbitohs just 12 months after a high-profile cross-code switch to Bath.
