National League One: Rosslyn Park 26 Wharfedale 15

The driving rain of a wet London day eased in time for kick-off and left the artificial turf glistening.

But it was Wharfedale who lit up the first half and were leading at half-time.

Jamie Guy put the visitors on the scoreboard with a 32-metre penalty but, despite good pressure from Dale it was their mistakes and lost line-outs that let Rosslyn into the game.

Park's try after 26 minutes showed the young northerners how to control the ball, build through the phases, be patient, draw in the defence and score.

From a line-out on their own ten-metre line, Park went through 12 phases before Adam Frampton touched down, Tom Whiteley landing a tricky conversion into the wind two metres in from touch.

Dale then forced their way into Park's 22, won a scrum six metres out and Cameron Hudson's mini break and inside pass put Huw Morgan over under the posts, Guy converting for a 10-7 interval advantage.

However, more mistakes at the start of the second half led to a yellow card to Harry Skelton and two tries for Park.

No 8 Hugo Ellis was awarded the first after a catch and drive, Whiteley adding the conversion before running in an unconverted try.

Poor tackling led to Park's fourth try from Adam Field before Skelton grabbed one for Dale, finishing off good work by Matt van Sertima.
