OLD Grovians' Dan Nulty has become one of the 2,015 new Level Two coaches recruited and trained by QBE Insurance in partnership with the Rugby Football Union.

The QBE Coaching Club programme was established to ensure the game in England has enough quality coaches to both welcome new players and encourage them to stay in the sport. It has now reached its target for 2015.

Nulty started coaching a year after he finished playing for Old Grovians because he missed the sport much more than he thought he would. When he was asked to help out, he jumped at the chance.

Finding the initial transition from player to coach difficult, he applied to the QBE Coaching Club to gain his Level Two coaching qualification and develop himself as a coach. Last season his team won Yorkshire Division Three.

Nulty said: "The QBE Coaching Club has been a fantastic help in translating my knowledge of the game into training sessions.

"QBE Insurance’s commitment to providing Level Two qualifications for rugby clubs across the country will have a huge impact on the quality of rugby at grass-roots level.”

England head coach Stuart Lancaster said: “The 2,015 new QBE coaches will have a fundamental impact on grass-roots rugby in this country. It’s a fantastic initiative and an incredible legacy to leave.”
