WIBSEY could have Jamie Vogel back in harness for their new SSE Yorkshire Division Five season.

Wibsey's team manager Steve Brooke said: "Jamie has agreed to coach us but we hope that he will be a player-coach."

The Northfield Road side have made four signings already – back-rowers Richard Lucas and Ryan Taylor, second-rower Chris Partridge and prop Cliff Bacon.

Partridge and Bacon both have rugby league experience, with Clayton and Wibsey Warriors respectively, while Army boy Taylor is the brother of current Wibsey player Scott.

Brooke added: "We have had 14 or 15 players down to training on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 20 overall, so I would imagine we would be working on a squad of 22 or 23, but we still need more players before we go to Ossett for our Yorkshire Silver Trophy tie on Saturday, August 29."
