KEEPING their discipline could be the key to Bradford Dudley Hill's hopes of winning tomorrow's Kingstone Press National Conference Division Two play-off final at Wigan St Judes.

The Parry Laners face St Judes at their own Keats Avenue ground, with a tempestuous 30-18 league defeat there fresh in the memory, even though it was in April.

"We had three players sent off," remembered Hill's first-team manager Steve Wright.

"Even with ten men we competed, but every time we lose badly we seem to get on the wrong side of the referee, so our discipline will be crucial.

"If we keep 13 players on the field, we have a good chance."

Hill won the return fixture 24-16 early last month on the way to finishing fourth, while St Judes came third, just two points ahead over the 22-game season, hence the home advantage, and everything points to a close encounter.

St Judes won their semi-final 42-24 at home to Askam two weekends ago, while Hill were 'putting their feet up' as visitors East Leeds handed them a walkover.

Wright said: "Apart from Neil Wall, who is serving a six-game suspension that will carry on into next season, we are at full strength, but Wigan St Judes are a difficult team to play against.

"They have a couple of old heads in Paul Pendlebury, who was a great player when he was younger, and scrum half Dean Hunt, and they like to get the ball wide at the earliest opportunity to winger Nathan Jones, who has some pace.

"However, we see our strength as being down the middle, although we can also play expansively."

Hill won't be lacking for support, with Wright adding: "We have filled a 70-seater coach, which includes the players and coaching staff, so there are some disappointed spectators who wanted to come on the bus who are having to go by car."

At stake is a place in Division One next season against clubs such as West Yorkshire rivals Shaw Cross Sharks and Milford Marlins.
