DEFENCE will be the order of the day as West Bowling welcome unbeaten early Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three pacesetters Dewsbury Moor Maroons to Emsleys Rec tomorrow.

Bowling have just one point in the bag from their two outings to date after surrendering what appeared to be two certain victories with match-winning totals.

Their failure to close out the games in the latter stages has cost them dearly but coach Glenn Barraclough, himself a past master in the art of late game play, is confident of rectifying the problem.

"The intensity and longevity of these crucial periods are what the team needs to adjust to," he said.

"The Maroons have rattled in 98 points and conceded just four in their first two outings, so our defence will have to be at its best to slow the Moor scoreboard from ticking over."

Free-scoring Bowling stand-off Max Trueman will make his first appearance after recovering from injury and Dan Gregory takes over from prop Nat Light, who is unavailable.

Bradford Dudley Hill travel to fellow 100 per cent Division Two rivals East Leeds in tremendous form.

Hill's back line is purring along, with wingman Neil Wall leading the way after grabbing a hat-trick against Millom last week.

The forwards, led by prop Adam Jefferson, are also on song but will be tested by the Leeds six, who are always a handful on home soil.

Clayton greet Pennine League Division Two colleagues West Craven Warriors in the second round of the Andrew Bennett Memorial Trophy at Lidget Green.

Coach Scott Pendlebury picks from a full-strength squad as they attempt to put some silverware in the cabinet.

But the Warriors will have a big say in the eventual result, having beaten the Villagers with ease earlier in their home league encounter.

Brighouse Rangers will be determined to make amends for last week's last-gasp Halifax Cup defeat at Boothtown as they host Cutsyke Raiders in the Andrew Bennett Trophy.

The Rangers cause will be boosted by the return of former Hemel prop Ben Waud and inspirational hooker Troy Ambler, plus the knowledge that they saw off the Wakefield visitors convincingly in the home league meeting.

Wyke A will pull off the shock of the season if they can win through to the Supplementary Cup semi-finals at Siddal.

Victoria Rangers bring their Pennine Division One season to a close with a visit to unbeaten champions elect Ovenden.
