WEST Bowling will be looking to build on a couple of thumping home victories when they head to local rivals Siddal Academy today in the Yorkshire Men’s League Premier Division.

Bowling battered Hull Wyke 50-12 last weekend, which followed a 62-8 success against Illingworth the week previously.

An outstanding win over Hull Wyke saw an early try from centre Jack Milburn soon put Bowling in control, with Liam Coe adding the extras.

Fellow centre Joe Smedley and winger Jake Green added further scores before the visitors hit back with a try following a rare attacking sortie.

Full back Max Trueman added another home score, with Coe grabbing his third goal to make it 22-6 at the break.

Second-rower Chris Watson stretched the hosts’ lead and, although the Hull visitors replied with another try, further scores from Jake Green, Ben Heald and Luke Harps confirmed Bowling’s superiority.

Trueman, Richard Lumb and Green were the stand-out performers for the victorious hosts.

Meanwhile, at the Pennine League dinner, held at Bradford's Cedar Court Hotel, West Bowling received a double honour, being named club of the year and Glenn Barraclough the coach of the year.

Bradford Dudley Hill have no game this weekend, having claimed an 18-10 win at Dewsbury Celtic last time out to go third in the National Conference Division Two.

Elsewhere, Wibsey Warriors and Queensbury will be hoping for victories on the road in Yorkshire Men’s League Division One as they head to Heworth and West Hull Lions A respectively.

Bradford Victoria Rangers host Keighley Albion in a Division Two derby.
