Jack Senior Memorial Bradford Cup semi-final: Odsal Sedbergh 20 Bradford Victoria Rangers 24

A SECOND-half comeback at Odsal Rec earned Bradford Victoria Rangers a berth in the final at the Provident Stadium on Sunday, May 1.

Sedge had high hopes of returning to the Odsal bowl for the first time in five years when they used their infamous slope to full advantage in the first stanza to rattle in a brace of tries from three-quarter John Adams, plus a solo effort from industrious hooker Shaq Jones.

The Vics, however, refused to be shaken off, touchdowns from Robert Stones and Luke Robinson keeping them well in the hunt to close the half 20-10 in arrears.

In the second half, Rangers used the blustery conditions to their advantage as Sedge conceded a succession of penalties, which gifted their opponents field position.

Vics hooker Isaac Brown was quick to exploit their ascendency when he scooted to the chalk for two vital tries, and scrum half Oscar Woodhead made another dynamic contribution, which, together with two conversions from Hayden Sugden, earned their right of passage.

Rangers coach John Hodgson praised the efforts of both sides, saying: β€œIt was a good game, despite the muddy conditions with a gale blowing, and was played with great passion, which was a credit to the local amateur game.”
