CENTRE Dan Gregory posted a Pennine League hat-trick in West Bowling's huge 52-20 win against Queens at Emsley's Rec.

The Leeds outfit, who showed up one man short, took an early 6-0 lead in the Premier Division clash before West's wingman James Crabb levelled matters.

Centre Joe Smedley then made the chalk, soon followed by two sparkling efforts from the classy Gregory.

Prop Chris Anderson crossed for an absolute cracker bang on the half-time whistle which, together with four conversions from stand-off Liam Coe, made a 28-6 total in the hosts' favour.

A dazzling passing sequence on the restart saw Gregory complete his treble but Bowling got carried away, forcing the pace to concede two interception tries which bolstered the Queens tally.

Full back Max Trueman and substitute wingman Jake Green both bagged a brace when the hosts settled back down and Coe added two extras to see Bowling home and dry in style.

Odsal Sedbergh suffered a second heavy Championship Division defeat in a row as they lost 54-24 at Mirfield Stags.

Sedge could not recover from an early 18-0 deficit despite touchdowns from Sam Hall (2), Josh Tordoff, Dan Dove and Paul Bottomley.

Victoria Rangers' march up the Division One table continued with a 34-6 home success over Ossett Trinity Tigers.

The Vics struck the first blow with a Kyle Hunt touchdown, soon followed by further tries from Ryan Dixon and Anthony Lawton.

The second half saw Aiden Scully post a brace of tries and Ash Yarrow also reached the whitewash.

The final touchdown went to the industrious Lawton, leaving the hosts with a very healthy winning margin.

Wyke's decision to switch their Division Two game to Selby Warriors came apart in a 34-24 defeat.

The black and whites' home pitch was waterlogged but they looked to be on course for the points when prop Ian Wormald powered over and wingman Tevin Campbell danced his way to the chalk for a 12-0 lead.

But it was all downhill after that despite a towering contribution from second-row forward Jonny Waddington and a length-of-the-field effort from centre Liam Hay.

West Bowling A could only muster a try by scrum half Lewis Poole plus a conversion from hooker Harry Williams in their 42-6 Division Three West defeat at Brighouse Rangers.

But Odsal Sedbergh A posted touchdowns through Jonny Ward, Karl Read, Robert Booth and Luke Barnes in the 26-16 win against Wyke A in Division Four West.
