WEST Bowling A were the only Bradford area side to beat the weekend weather, posting a 44-12 win in a Pennine League Division Four relegation clash at Wortley Dragons.

With the first team out of action, Bowling drafted in a number of big-hitters to boost their second string and were rewarded with a three-try performance from packman Richard Lumb, operating in the unusual position of stand-off.

Highly-rated young scrum half Lewis Poole weighed in with a brace, while wingman Lewis Wigglesworth, second-row forward Kieran Phelan and hooker Joe Lumb also made the whitewash.

Full back Matt Sharp was on target with six goals in the healthy total that also saw Bowling prop forward Ash Hutchinson put in a telling performance after recovering from injury.

Saturday's wipe-out means that the Jack Senior Memorial Bradford Cup and Hudson Foster Supplementary Cup programme has been rearranged for Saturday, February 14.
