THE Cougars have signed centre Cameron Leeming from Kingstone Press League One rivals Hunslet.

Keighley have also secured a testimonial match in February for Brendon Rawlins against Betfred Super League champions Leeds Rhinos.

Leeming, who can also play in the back-row, helped Gary Thornton's side win the League One Shield in late September.

The 22-year-old made 18 appearances for the south Leeds club in 2017, scoring nine tries.

He tweeted: "Buzzing to announce I've signed with @Cougarmania. Craig (Lingard) really sold the club to me with their attacking brand of rugby.

"I can't wait to meet all the lads, get a good pre-season under my belt and hit the ground running for 2018.

"I know the Keighley fans are a passionate bunch, so can't wait to get on the pitch and experience the atmosphere at Cougar Park."

Leeming was previously with Stanningley, joining the Rhinos as a youth player before moving to Wakefield Trinity in 2012 following the completion of his scholarship at Headingley.

After four seasons in the youth development system at Belle Vue, the centre headed down under in 2016 to spend a season with Wyong Roos, a feeder club to NRL side Sydney Roosters.

During his year with the New South Wales Cup outfit, Leeming was part of the side that finished sixth prior to play-off defeats at the hands of Newcastle Knights and Wests Tigers' reserve teams.

However, the Roos did win the Central Coast Division Premiership that season.

Meanwhile, Leeds will visit Cougar Park on Sunday, February 4 (2pm) in what will be one of the last events of Rawlins' testimonial year.

The Rhinos won an unprecedented eighth Super League title earlier this month, comfortably defeating Castleford Tigers in front of a full house at Old Trafford.

It will not be the first time the Rhinos have supported Rawlins' testimonial as they supplied four legends for 'A Night With The Leeds Rhinos' event at Victoria Hall.
