COUGARS have announced the signing of prop Harvey Hallas from Super League side Wakefield Trinity this evening.
Hallas arrives at Keighley following a season with Trinity Under-19s side where he played alongside fellow new Cougars signing Liam Senior.
With three other top-flight clubs interested in him, he joined Wakefield this year after leaving Leeds Rhinos following the conclusion of the 2016 campaign.
Originally a back-rower before being converted to prop, the 19-year-old was a pupil at Temple Moor with whom he featured in three national schools rugby finals.
Prior to joining Leeds, Hallas played for the youth sides of amateur clubs Normanton Knights and Oulton Raiders, as well as for Yorkshire and Leeds Service Area teams.
As a junior with Oulton he helped them lift Yorkshire Cup, Challenge Cup and War of the Roses trophies and was picked up for the scholarship programme at Headingley aged 15.
