Cougars have confirmed that Sunday’s home fixture against the Coventry Bears will go ahead at the request of Danny Jones’ family.

The news came after the club revealed they will be renaming the main stand after the after the Welsh international, who died from a suspected cardiac arrest in Keighley's game at London Skolars.

A minute's silence will be held across rugby league this weekend as a mark of respect for the former Keighley player.

The club have also confirmed that the RFL have accepted their request to retire Jones’ number six jersey.

Player-coach Paul March said that Sunday's League One game will go ahead after speaking with Jones’ family today at the ground as they visited to see the tributes left in memory of the stand-off.

In a short statement on the club's website, chairman Gary Fawcett said: "I know that our players are hurting but they will do Danny proud on Sunday."

Fawcett also announced that a third of gate monies and all monies made through programme sales will go into the RFL benevolent fund, which has so far raised nearly £43,500 for Danny’s wife Liz and his twin boys.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of Sunday’s fixture with prices discounted up until Thursday evening on the Cougars website.

The club has also confirmed there will be a pay on the day option available at Cougar Park this Sunday, with the club asking supporters using this method of entry to the ground to arrive early to avoid queues.
