An RFL Operational Rules Tribunal has dismissed Keighley Cougars player-coach Paul March’s appeal against the four-match suspension imposed for questioning the integrity of a match official in a Kingstone Press Championship fixture against Doncaster on Sunday, February 23.
The ban was handed down last week when an RFL Disciplinary Tribunal went outside the suspension guidelines for the Grade C offence after considering March’s previous record, his age and his position as player-coach.
March again pleaded not guilty at the appeals tribunal but the panel upheld the original sanction of a four-match ban and £100 fine.
