Early exit for Sugden in Florida
Tim Sugden's run in the Sebring 12-hour race in Florida ended at the three-hour mark when car owner Paul Drayson went off the track at the very fast turn one, causing terminal damage.
Lord Drayson had just started his second stint in the car when he had the accident after Jonny Cocker and Bradford's Sugden had moved the Drayson- Barwell Aston Martin DBRS 9 up from 14th to ninth place
during their spell in the car.
The differential and gearbox were damaged and the rules do not allow them to be replaced so the team had no alternative but to retire.
Sugden begins the defence of his 2008 Porsche Carrera Cup title this weekend, which will be run as part of the Malaysian Grand Prix programme.
