Clayton clinch first place

Clayton pair Jim Ellerton (12 handicap) and Tony Wilkinson (16) won the latest Bradford Winter Alliance event at Skipton.

They carded 46 stableford points to finish two clear of host pair Paul Pethybridge (4) and Jeremy Harding (3).

In third place, also on 44 points, were Hollins Hall duo Chris Timmins (10) and Chris Howe (3).

Hollins' Brian Rumney won the professional prize with 39 points, four ahead of runner-up Warren Kemp, of West Bradford. The final Alliance on Wednesday is a four-man team event at Keighley.
