Away-day blues for Thackley
Parkgate 4 Thackley 1
A disappointing day for Thackley who slipped to a heavy defeat in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.
Caine Cheetham headed home Parkgate's first from close range and, on the half hour, Matthew Roney stabbed in the second after an inviting ball into the Thackley area.
Their lead was cut before the break as Ian Horrocks raced from deep and ended his run with a perfect finish.
Just four minutes into the
second half Parkgate restored their two-goal cushion. It was another frustrating strike for the visitors. Keeper Danny Trueman saved a shot but the loose ball was pounced on by Gavin Allott.
Roney took a slide-rule pass in his stride before bursting through the Thackley defence to complete the scoring.
