Thackley striker Jordan won’t be missin’ for long
Rcent signing Jordan Missin is still bedding himself in at Dennyfield but the club is expecting him to weigh in with his share of goals.
Spokesman Mick Lodge said: “Jordan has an outstanding record locally. He has been prolific in the Sunday League, for his Saturday side and with Albion Sports last season in the division below us.
“Jordan has made just two appearances for us so far and both have been off the bench but he has looked very lively when he comes on and has had chances.
“He made his debut for us, as a substitute obviously, a fortnight ago at Long Eaton. We had signed him in the midweek leading up to that game.
“He almost scored. He only got the last 17 minutes but he was put clean through, only for the ball to take a bobble as he went to strike it. With Jordan’s record you would have put your house on him scoring but the pitch played its part.
“Last weekend Jordan came on for Matt Mathers in the second half and he launched himself at a Nicky Matthews cross but his diving header went into the side netting.
“I’m sure he will start to take his chances and I think it is a good move by Vinny (manager Vince Brockie) to get him here because with Mark Bett out injured we have been relying on Matthews and Mathers again. There have been a lot of injuries so far this season and we are hoping that eases a bit.”
